Fire and Mud Kids

Children's and Teen classes are structured with a curriculum, but still loose enough to allow for each individuals interests, ability and growth. It is my goal to provide a safe environment for creativity and exploration where all students may find their expression and joy through creating.

Classes:

Kids and Teens can purchase session cards the same as adults or participate in one of the programs below. Single sessions are $40 each, 6 session card is $200, 12 session card is $375, and 24 session card is $720. Use of tools, supplies, kiln firings, 10 pounds of clay per 6 classes and glazes are included. Students who have purchased a session card can use 3 sessions for a one day workshop.

Summer Clay Camp – An exploration in clay and creative arts for ages 5 and up. Parents are welcome to join in the fun! Three week sessions beginning June 21, July 12, and August 2 on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30pm – 3pm. $125 for the three week course 5 person minimum to run, 15 person maximum.

Family Fun - An exploration into hand building with clay for ages 5 and up. Great for the whole family! Wednesdays, 11am-12:30pm beginning June 1 – Aug. 31. Classes are in two week increments. The first week is construction, the second is glazing. Choose the weeks that work for your schedule. $25 per person for 2 week course. 6 weeks for $70. All materials included.10 person minimum to run, 20 person maximum. Please reserve your spot today.

Boy Scout Merit Badge Classes -Classes are based on the merit badge requirements for Boy Scouts and instructed by an approved BSA merit badge counselor. For ages 7 and up. Parents are welcome to join in the fun! 10 student minimum, 18 students max per class. Classes fill up quickly so reserve your spot today! Please contact Linda Knapp at LLKnapp@san.rr.com to sign up.
Pottery Merit Badge classes – A 6 week course. $93 covers all materials, glazes and firings. Next sessions are: Mondays 4:00pm.-5:30pm, May 2 through June 13, and Wednesdays 2:00pm-3:30pm, starting June 15 through July 20 and July 27 through Aug. 31.

Sculpture Merit Badge classes – A 3 week course. $45 covers all materials, glazes and firings. Next sessions are: Wednesdays 4:00-5:30pm, May 25 through June 8 and Mondays 2:00-3:30pm, July 11 through July 25.

Kids After School Program - This is an art and clay program for kids K-8 that includes all materials. Fall session begins September 20th, 2011 and ends December 15th, 2011 with your choice of 1 or 2 days a week on Tuesday and/or Thursday from 4pm-5:30pm. Cost: $175 for one day a week or $300 for two days a week. Minimum of 5 students to run, maximum of 15.

Semi-private Wheel classes – Students will learn to center, open, and throw on the potter’s wheel. We will also decorate and glaze the work produced. 6, one hour classes with 2 students per class for $140. Materials included. Call to schedule.
